Luka Modrić will join AC Milan following the Club World Cup campaign this summer, ending a glittering 13-year spell with Real Madrid.
The 39-year-old Croatian midfielder is set to sign a one-year deal with the Rossoneri, with an option to extend.
Speaking to BBC Sport in his first press conference, Massimiliano Allegri said: “Modrić will arrive in August.”
“While Reijnders and Hernández won’t be part of the team next season, Maignan and Leão seem willing to stay,” added Allegri. Milan begin their Serie A campaign against Cremonese on 23 August.
The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner has claimed 28 trophies with Real Madrid since joining from Tottenham in 2012 – including six Champions League titles and four La Liga crowns.
Modrić began his career at Dinamo Zagreb before rising to prominence in the Premier League with Spurs.
He has remained a pivotal figure into his late 30s, playing a central role in Croatia’s run to the 2018 World Cup final and continuing to perform at the highest level for club and country.
